| should schools teach critical analysis to younger students? instead of just imparting knowledge and allowing students to "make up their own minds" about subjects that are more dynamic in nature. i.e.; political and historical subjects. basically, do we prepare students to be able to weigh all the factors before handing them knowledges that will most likely illicit emotional responses instead of logical ones? and if not, don't we set them on a course in life where their first response is to debate subjects that they know very little about? i think this would help curb their openness to propaganda, predjudice and more, to where they would be able to make more enlightened decisions that ultimately affect everyone. |
