I'm more of the parent that will say do it because I said so. A child does not need to question their parent and their authority in the home. I do believe in having children learn from their mistakes and to teach them from an early age, but when I say do something then I mean do it or if I say don't do something I mean don't do it. They can ask why I want to do and not to do certain things and I'll be glad to answer, but they will not question or challenge me as a parent. I was raised to do what my parents told me to do, end of story, because it is right to listen to and respect your parents.
