Momumental has a spectacular aura about
I would like to visit a foreign country to see how they teach science but

don't know where to start.? I teach junior high science and would like to visit/observe science teachers at one of the countries that scored above the US on the TIMSS test. There are grants available for teachers to do this so I am not having trouble with that part. But I am struggling with justifyinig why I should go; exactly where I should go; and what would be the results of my going. I want to go because it would be cool! I want to see what they are doing that I am not. I want to learn from them how they pace their curriculum, grade their lab reports and how their classroom is set up. I would like to model my classroom after the things that are highly successful there. I want to see those things in action! I want to go because I am a lifelong learner and anything that I could bring back to the classroom that would enable me to be a better teacher would benefit my students...but where to go?
