Christians only please: Do you practice what Jesus taught?

Jesus' main mantra throughout the gospels seemed to be to live modestly, to GIVE to the poor. If you have more than enough, give to those that have none. If you have two coats, give one away (He really said that!!!). He said that it is harder for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven than for a camel to go through the eye of a needle! We americans are rich comparably. Are you a giving Christian, or a gorging Christian? Do you think that this principle is often overlooked in modern churches?
True... You can't just go handing out money, you could be enabling people to live negative lifestyles, but I believe that there ARE ways to do this correctly.
And no, I don't think that I'm perfect. I've got 3 coats and a million pairs of shoes, all bought on sale though :-)
It is something that I realize that I need to work on personally and that the church world as a whole though. But like the gentlemen said, Churches are only as good as the people in them, so we need to change one at a time.
Coat, shirt, whatever. The devils' in the details I guess ;-)

Yes, that is not ALL Jesus taught, and only one of his main points, but read the gospel of luke and count how many times he says it ;-D
David T. Are you serious? I grew up that way, but most of them aren't as crazy as you to bring it up to random people... only if you walk into their church. Lol!
