My english teacher won't teach the class....? Please help!?

I guess I'll weigh in: my teacher spends the whole block on the computer, doing who knows what and teaches us simply NOTHING. He yells at us for not being energetic (we're deadbeat with all the homework we get from other subjects & get about 6 hrs of sleep per night) and participating much, and how can we, half of the time the question has no relevance to what we are doing. The sad part is that he is aware of us not liking his class because he won't teach. We told our other teachers about the situation and they tried to confront him, but he takes it more as criticism. There are absolutely no lesson plans set, and the amount of homework or test we get all depends on how we act in class. For example, if we're 2 quiet, he thinks we're up to something he hammers with a ton of homework (which he never collects or goes over) and then gives a test the next day without going over the material. He did the same thing for our midterm, he told us the day before the midterm on wat it would be abt
The reality is that we're taking high level courses and everytime a teacher confronts him about him not teaching, he tells us things are going to change and "I'm not going to go easy anymore" Of course, his definition of "going tough" is hammering us with an unreasonable amount of homework, which most of us don't get and NEVER teaching or collecting it. O yeah, did I mention that all his homework and assignments come from what other schools have posted up on the net. He constantly calls us "jerks", says that we're bound to be failures in life, and puts us down whenever possible. In addition, he's always eating in front us and started playing a sports clip on his computer as if no one is even there. Some days, he isn't even in the classroom.I t's the not the homework that I'm complaining about it's the lack of instructional teaching and involvement in the class. Some of the students have written a letter to the principal last Friday, hoping he won't take it the wrong way.
We have all started keeping a journal since last week.

Start keeping a daily journal of what he does and doesn't do. Take it to your parents, who should speak with the administration.
