Do you really think that it is a good idea to teach intelligent...

...design/creationism over Darwanism in schools? If so, why?
(and try to come up with something more clever than "Jesus is Lord!!! Free Bird!!!)
If so why not?

I think they should teach the truth. That Darwinism is bad and dishonest science. So many parts of the theory is based on lies. most of the basis of the theory have been proved false,,especially by the science of genetics.
And because there is for more evidence supporting creation than evolution. Especially by Quantum physics.
God bless

I believe both veiws should be taught and those who want to know more can always find it when they ready. God does not force Himself on anyone so those who want to follow God do so with their own free will

Because neither one can be proven in a labratory. I think the kids should be taught both as systems of belief/faith. There are things that seem to over-ride darwinism. Creationism has its good points and I just think both should be presented until proof positive is finally reached.

personally theology doesnt belong in school....if you want your child to learn that stuff, either send them to a private school, or teach them yourself...

too many hours are wasted at school already...
why waste more?
if you allow ID whats next? Every possible religion wanting their ideas to be taught alongside ID and evolution?

I think that the FSM creator has it right...

In my college, they don't teach religion as subjects, but they teach evolution, the big bang theory and all those stuffs in science subs. So whatever knowledge we have of those beliefs, we learned it from schools.

NO

Every child should learn basic genetics! God can easily work thru scientific principles. There is no reason for religion and science to clash.

ID (a stupid name for creationism) does not belong in the science class.

(and I do believe in God and the Adam and Eve story)

No. My teacher in Biology AP taught evolution and the big bang and stuff and then concluded with "Where the hell do you think all this stuff came from, and why do you think it works out so well given the low chance of success?" She said she thought there had to be an intelligent designer somewhere in this that created matter in the first place. She isn't a Christian or anything to my knowledge. I just think that teachers shouldn't be allowed to blatantly speak out against intelligent design or any religions in general. Evolution doesn't really go against intelligent design. Design is a process, evolution is a process. Maybe they could be the same in some way?

There is, as yet, no definitive answer to the question of our existence. What we have at the moment are theories based on current evidence and that is all. That is the one single flaw in education of any kind, knowledge evolves but people do not evolve with it, they like to stick to an idea or a theory which they have been taught in the past that they find appealing at the time, even if, through the process of time, that piece of learning which was once true, is now false.
Our answers are yet to materialize, and that is the only truth i know.

They are both theories based on sketchy physical evidence so they should get equal time.
