I am surprised if you are an english teacher you never heard of english corner. I have run an english corner at the University in China here for past year and attended others in the city. Everyone is different and depends on the person wanting it. Essentially it is a room where students do everything in english. It could be activities or simply talking to each other in english. My corners varied in size from 10 to 100. Organised well they can be amazing for all who attend.

I taught English to teenagers in Turkey for five years and I must admit I have no idea what an English Corner is, but maybe if you provided more details, I could help...

Basically you got to an open area. probably the corner of a park at the same time every week (or so) and just allow whoever wants to to come and talk and practice their English. Some English corners are more structured than others but basically all you need is at least one native or very good English speaker (the more thhe merrier) . Put the word out at schools, colleges etc and see who turns up. It's great. You'll probably get just a smuch out of it as your Chinese students.
