Should creationism be taught in public school science classrooms?

Taught alongside the theory of evolution, that is.
mbush40: only liberals believe in evolution?

Considering the fact that Creationism is in absolutely no way, shape, or form any type of science the answer would be NO. Creationism is religious myth and dogma and as such it has no place in a public school system.

No that's a RIDICULOUS idea.

However, it should be taught. Every high school student should have to take a full year of classes on Major World Religions before graduating.

It should only be reserved for college level. If bible thumpers really do believe kids should know this stuff they will make sure they are able to go college to learn it.

It funny to see all of those who are so afraid of presenting students with a choice of possibilities. Evolution is not science either. It's a theory. Always has been a theory. How about creationism being taught as a theory. If it would make you feel better, throw in aliens did it as a theory. Caveat: I don't trust public school teachers to teach religion, so I wouldn't want them to give much more than a passing mention.

Creationism isn't science. Evolution is based on scientific theory. Creationism is based on fiction from a book. If you would like to teach creationism in literature class that would probably be OK.
