Why aren't kids in school taught that the United States of America is an

ELECTORAL APARTHEID ??? ... WHERE THE PLACE YOU LIVE IN DETERMINES WHETHER YOU ARE A U.S. CITIZEN WITH THE RIGHT TO VOTE OR IF YOU ARE A SECOND CLASS U.S. CITIZEN THAT CAN'T PARTICIPATE IN ELECTING THE PRESIDENT OR TO ELECT VOTING MEMBERS OF CONGRESS THAT REPRESENT YOU IN THE NATIONAL GOVERNMENT THAT HOLDS POWER OVER YOUR DESTINY ??? ...

Does that make the United States a ...

- Government that is ONLY for SOME of the People
- Government that is ONLY for SOME of the People

become a citizen if ya want to vote here..leave if you don't want to do that. YOU hold power over your destiny. You came here..you can also leave here. Geesh. Do you have any clue how stupid what you just said looks?

So make up your mind already. Do you want to become a full fledged State or do you want complete independence. There have been any number of votes in P.R. and people voted to keep things as they are. They know a good thing when they have it. Why would they want to become another poverty stricken Banana Republic.

Because only one of side of an issue doesn't make it fact. There are many in PR that are content with the present situation - and then there are many who would just as soon break away from the United States and become an independent nation.
The debate continues with plenty of pros and cons for both positions.
