be a postive role model for the class. praise the class and give tokens, smiley cards, stickers, pizza coupons to those who show positive behaviours
if the students show independent learning skills then they are rewarded by the teacher assistant as well, by smiling, pat on the back, announcement, gift and a nice call home to parent.

If the student is showing negativity, the opposite happens.
