If belief in God is natural from birth, why do we have to be taught it?

If belief in God is natural from birth, why do we have to be taught it?

This is another reason I left Islam. And religion altogether. If a belief in a God is so natural and ingrained into us from the time of birth, why is it that we have to be constantly taught and reminded of this as we get older? Wouldn't we already know it?
