Have you ever had a math eacher that teaches like this?

Ok, my Honors Pre-Calc. teacher this year is just, I don't wanna say bad but she teaches so weird. For example, when we were doing logs she began with equations first (the long ones with multiple steps)...I had no clue what to do...and by the second week she basically began teaching us log to exponential conversion. she teaches from most complex to simple instead of building. And it's not just me...a lot of the kids in my class (most of whom are in the top of my class, including me), struggle to understand it.

So basically I just go home and have to re-learn it in a way a I can understand...

and also, there are actually some periods where she begins talking about politics...so when she sees that she's behind a week or so on a topic, she rushes through it...no test or quiz, sometimes only 1 hw assignment...this doesn't help because I don't learn it for the final!

So should I just tell her or what should I do?

hmm. if you are really confused, then you should definitely go to her at the end of class and ask her about all your uncertainties. tell her that you don't quite understand things WITHOUT seeming offensive, so that she won't have to feel offended/hurt, but will know there is a problem.

i know that my gr11 chemistry teacher was genuinely shocked when the guidance counselor told him that 2 of his students had complained to her that they couldn't understand the way he taught... he never knew that because they never told him abt the problem or asked him any questions. he told me he wished they had asked him.

but remember, don't be rude! though i dont think you will be when if she still doesn't change, then you might have to switch out... although she doesn't sound like a BAD teacher. what i would do is stick with it and form study groups/ go over the textbook really well. after all, in the future, university will be all about self-learning anyway, and if you are able to self-teach now, you'll be ready for it then.

Yes, I've had a teacher like this and plus with a bad accent. it was bad but still managed to pass
