LDS - did your ward teach something other than Easter today?? I was offended.?

Today's gospel doctrines class was very disturbing to me. There was ZERO discussion of Easter and to take it a step further, Jesus was only mentioned once during the entire lesson. By contrast, Joseph Smith was mentioned 5-6 times.

How can the self-anointed 'one true church of Jesus Christ' completely omit him from Easter??
'Former' in the heart and mind, but not officially resigned yet. (I decided to retain my membership for business reasons)

I still attend in order to at least spend that time with my family, plus I want to hear what they are trying to teach my kid.

Today's lesson was about Jacob magnifying his calling and whatnot.
Fisher - there was a mention of OD #1 in our class, too. The instructor said that "men should take only one wife, because that is what we are commanded to do...and we should do that until commanded to do otherwise." ARE YOU KIDDING ME??
Ronnie - No, I kept the membership for business reasons. I attend because my wife drags our child there each week and it's important for me to spend time with them and also to know what is being taught.
I didn't say the lesson was about Joseph Smith. I said that he was mentioned 5-6 times, while Jesus was mentioned only once. As I said before, the lesson was about Jacob.

In sacrament we talk about the atonement. I would assume that gospel doctrine and the others would continue with there lessons. I did not get to attend because i was in the nursery today. I know in primary that they have a special lesson on Christ on Easter in which we even had one in nursery.

We had a lesson about why Joseph Smith married women who were simultaneously married to other men.

My hometeacher and his comp were outraged that this was even brought up, but the E. Q. President read us a quote out of Bushman's _Rough Stone Rolling_, so I guess historians actually accept this as a fact.

I taught Gospel Doctrine class today, and swapped lesson 12 with 15 and so taught a lot about Easter. Easter falls at a different time each year, and bible and Book of M lessons are in the order that the books are in. New Testament lessons , the Lessons fall late summer about the ressurection, because we study from front to back. It is not missed, Just deferred. I just look for the resurrection lesson and teach it early. I guess some don't. It will be taught during the year.
I don't quite believe you about Joseph Smith being mentioned in Sunday School 5-6 times. There is no Sunday School lessons on Joseph Smith except in Church History which is next year. Now he could have been mentioned during Priesthood, although today was a talk by Bro Holland on The Nature of the Godhead.

The church does believe in Easter and is very thankful for everything the Lord has done.

You go to church for business reasons? No sense worrying about you anyway. You are wasting your time in church.
