Why do xtian parents focus so much on hell when teaching their kids?

So, I've noticed that when xtian parents are teaching their little kids about the "truth" they go into a lot of detail on hell. Is that really necessary? I remember when I was a kid and had to go to the Sunday school classes, do you not know how terrifying that is for a young child to be told they will burn for eternity if they don't follow the bible? Come to find out all these years it's just a fictional place, but at the time I was terrified of everything I did and constantly thinking "what if god's watching me?". So, do you all really find it necessary to scare children to death over a fictional place? Discuss.
I'm stating what I saw. Come to a southern baptist church and you'll see. 50% of the Sunday school class is about hell.
Good ****ing god people you know what an xtian is so stop invading my question with "what's a xtian". I have Sons of Thunder to do that, I don't need any more.

I think some do that to scare their kids in to submission. Frightening thought, isn't it?? I'd rather have my kids disobey here and there rather than them being so terrified of eternal torment.

Laziness. Children are easier to control by means of fear than love.

Ask any Christian what Hell is going to be like and they'll go on for hours. Ask them what Heaven is like and they'll give you a vague answer that's over in less than a minute. It speaks volumes.
