My dog ripped my lazy-boy to pieces, how do i teach him its not right????

I have a 1 year old Siberian Husky and he likes to chew my furniture to pieces!!!! hes costed me over $1400 in furniture!!!!!! Ive tried punishing him, spanking him, EVERYTHING!!!! Nothing seems to work, WHAT SHOULD I DO????? HELP please!!!!
