| Jehovah's Witnesses Does the Bible teach that Jesus Christ is God?
If you have five counterfeit hundred dollar bills in your cash drawer, then how much money have you got in your cash drawer? Five hundred dollars...or none? If you have one hundred false gods in your pantheon, then how many gods have you got? (I saw similar question so decided to ask) |

Jehovah is the only Almighty God. Jesus is a God. Satan is the God of this system. 2 Cor 4:3 Even men have been called Gods. There is one God the Father of all things and his name is Jehovah. Jehovah created Jesus and all others were created through Jesus by using the holy spirit as his tool. Jesus is spoken of in the Scriptures as “a god,” even as “Mighty God.” (John 1:1; Isa. 9:6) But nowhere is he spoken of as being Almighty, as Jehovah is. (Gen. 17:1) Jesus is said to be “the reflection of [God’s] glory,” but the Father is the Source of that glory. (Heb. 1:3) Jesus in no way seeks the position of his Father. He said: “It is Jehovah your God you must worship, and it is to him alone you must render sacred service.” (Luke 4:8) He exists “in God’s form,” and the Father has commanded that “in the name of Jesus every knee should bend,” but this is all done “to the glory of God the Father.”—Phil. 2:5-11; |

The Bible is very clear in teaching that Jesus Christ is NOT God. Revelation 3:14 describes Jesus in no uncertain terms as "the beginning of the creation by God". Now think about that, if someone is the beginning of another's creation, then logically and clearly they cannot be the creator. That is how it works with God and Christ Jesus......God created Jesus, and so Jesus CANNOT be God. Also, the Bible in many other ways reflects Jesus' inferior role to his father. Jesus himself said "the father is greater than I", and even said that the things he spoke to those he preached to were not of his own originality, but from the one who sent him. Jesus himself prayed to his own God and Father numerous times, directing glory and worship to the one he knew created him and was higher than he.

The Bible teaches that God is the father, the Son and the Holy Spirit John said: "And we know that the Son of God has come and has given us an understanding, that we may know Him who is true; and we are in Him who is true, in His Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God and eternal life." (1 John 5:20). The Jehovah's Witnesses refer "This is the true God" to "Him who is true", i.e. the Father of the Son. But that runs somewhat contrary to normal grammar, where 'houtos', 'this', tends to tie in with the closer possible referent, not the further: "A demonstrative pronoun is a pointer, singling out an object in a special way. The three demonstrative pronouns used in the NT are 'houtos,' 'ekeinos,' and 'hode'....'houtos' regularly refers to the near object ('this'), while 'ekeinos' regularly refers to the far object ('that')." (Greek Grammar Beyond the Basics, Daniel B. Wallace, p. 325). John could have expressed himself ungrammatically; but if he did not, this is a clear statement of the eternal Deity of the Son, Jesus Christ Another proof that the Bible says Jesus is God The angels of God are commanded to worship the Son: But when He again brings the firstborn into the world, He says: Let all the angels of God worship Him." (Hebrews 1:6). Can many lawfully be worshipped? Only one: "Then Jesus said to him, 'Away with you, Satan! For it is written, ‘You shall worship the LORD your God, and Him only you shall serve.'" (Matthew 4:10); "And I fell at his feet to worship him. But he said to me, See that you do not do that! I am your fellow servant, and of your brethren who have the testimony of Jesus. Worship God!" (Revelation 19:10). More proof wanted?? Are there many Saviors?: "I, even I, am the LORD, and besides Me there is no savior." (Isaiah 43:11). The Son is our Savior: "And we have seen and testify that the Father has sent the Son as Savior of the world." (1 John 4:14) The Jehovah's Witnesses point out that national champions like Othniel are also called 'Saviors': "When the children of Israel cried out to the LORD, the LORD raised up a deliverer ['yasha'] for the children of Israel, who delivered them: Othniel the son of Kenaz, Caleb's younger brother." (Judges 3:9). But Othniel and his rank saved only as from the paw of the bear and into the maw of the lion; those whom they saved, died. This is not so with our Savior! The Bible is full of example that Jesus Christ is God but many choose to ignore the truth and this truth will judge them |

Jw's believe that Jesus Christ is "a god" created by the supreme God Jehovah. While they claim to worship one God, they do not deny the existence of gods. Worshipping one God and showing obieisance(veneration) to christ. Thus , if they worship one God yet venerate another....it contradicts montheism and thus they are not christian. This is called Henothelitism. Basically, in the midst of gods, they truly worship only one. This is heresy. |
