Will someone please teach me why death is so popular now?

It's saturating our music, T-shirts, movies, television shows and is the #1 topic of most news stories, whether paper or electronic.

When I was a kid, death was at funerals and horror shows...ONLY.

What's going on here, really? Do you know?

There are symptoms in our culture that suggest we are infected with an attraction to that which is not alive.

We have become desensitized to accounts of destructive violence, crime, and cruelty, child abuse, sadism, war, as they are daily fare and for some a thrill.

If these are the media's preconcieved idea of what is good for us to be sensitive, decent, loving persons they are wrong, I think it's the kiss of death.

Death is popular because it is what everyone fears most. When you see it in movies there are a verity of ways people die. This in the movies cause the ideas in people's heads that they might actually die like this. And then came the horror movies. It's also the most unknown topic to people. So when people die they like to find out who, when, and why. It makes a great article. ever watch CSI? they can make death a big thing.
