Cubans allowed technology and appliances-What changes are next there?

Cuba just made it legal for its residents to own cellphones. Also (i beleive) appliances and other TECH devices. What kind of driving force will this create there? I mean in the USA cellphones have ben here, what, 15 years. We in the USA take these changes for granted but how will this change a secluded communist, and significant, place like Cuba. Will it change the government, the economy or politics there?
