Is technology destroying humanity?

Think of all the negative things that come from it: Kids play video games instead of exercising and having interaction with other kids to learn social skills. People get spoiled by instant emails, cell calls, texts etc so that you expect everything right now....your relationship, you food, your paycheck etc. People use internet dating sites to have affairs ( saying they are single when they are not), for entertainment when they are supposed to be to meet someone not just chat, and all kinds of scams...I dont know, are we better off or not??
Really, the Egyptians, Mayans, Romans, etc didnt have computers and they survived ( even flourished) .....here technology buffs tell it, its a wonder mankind made it this far!! LOL
