Solution Focussed Brief Therapy. I am a practitioner in this and it has real results. Someone in your local area will be trained in this method, its just about finding out who.

Narrative Therapy has been peer reviewed to show effectiveness in dealing with depression. Also, family therapy (I have some limited skills in this area). A contraversial is Electroconvulsive Therapy for severe and enduring depression. Light Therapy can be used for people with S.A.D. Accupunture has an effective rate of around 50% for treating depression. The National Institute for Clinical Excellence produced a report showing the benefits of exercise, and I was once part of a scheme for Sport on Prescription. Meditation is also quite useful. Vitamin B groups such as B6 and B12 can help, so I believe. I use Motivational Enhancement Therapy in my personal practice, and I am about to start a Masters in CBT
