Currently in terms of technological expenditures "we" are heading in the direction of war/destruction and socialism. The largest expenses of virtually any country of the modern world is military, social(ism), and corruption. It is only a very few individuals, perhaps 3 percent of the population, that truly make civilization better through being patrons of humanities such as art and innovation. As well, it has almost always been this way throughout the whole of history to varying degrees, in the Rennaissance of the Middle Ages for Example, it was primarily the emerging merchant class that is responsible for the Artists like Michaelangelo or Da Vinci being able to support themselves and their achievements. |
