Do I need Acer Empowering Technology to run my computer properly?

Do I need Acer Empowering Technology to run my computer properly?

I have an Acer Laptop and the Acer Empowering Technology program in Programs and Features takes up a lot of memory. My computer and internet is going really slow. The only problem is that I need to get rid of unneeded programs. Do I need the Acer Empowering Technology program to run my laptop or is it just an additional thing added? The other big programs I have are Halo and Sims 2 but yet I still play those games/
