Excellent question...
Networks and technology are causing different cultures to mix and they are increasing tolerance toward other cultures.
For example, in India, the IT(Information Technology) boom has introduced western culture in the IT centers. A lot of Indians in the IT field have two cultures imbibed in them: they follow Indian traditions as well as adopt western habits, like going to dances.
And it has increased tolerance. Example- Today we see a lot of Sanskrit words in English like, karma, nirvana, chakra, pundit etc. These are all borrowed from the Indian language, Sanskrit. These words were exported to Western nations because many Indians working in the IT field travel overseas.
Hence, there is wider cultural acceptance.
Hope this helps!
