Shooting from the hip, I would suggest you choose one that you can easily substantiate with source material,
(i.e.: Advances in technology will shape the 21st century by wider information distribution and management.)

You could discuss the advent of the 'Information Age' that has been brought on by technology and then just itemize the contributions of various types of tech tools-pc's, cellphones, i-phones, blackberries, etc.

I have to write a good, thought out thesis to this: How will advances in technology shape the 21st century? Will the new changes bring positive or negative changes or both? I prefer the changes to be positive.
