Global Warming Theory and the death of this planet vs technology?

Is it just me or is this world totally backwards?!
We are constantly being reminded that global warming is approaching.Fast. and that we, the population should remember to turn lights off, not leave things on standby, turn to 30 blah blah blah. But what about the corporate companies and businesses???New technology's being developed are not that great-they are more material as supposed to necessary, yet they continue to be made 24 hours a day in factories/labs etc which use a hurrendous amount of fuels. Why not shut them down?surely the impact of these companies being closed down, or at least being put on hold for a while will dramatically lower carbn emissions. And what about offices etc?Driving through London at 3am in the morning-when very few people are working, you can still see the computers left on, lights left on, etc.Why dont we have a go at them instead of the population who are fed these new useless technologies and told we 'need' them in our lives?!
anyone else agree?dis?
I'm not saying we return to the 18th century, my point is that the public is targeted to reduce emissions, when there are huge companies who leave everything in the office running overnight-surely that would make a HUGE difference?!

backwards is a polite word for it. I saw a thing on the news in australia or france, they turned out all unnecessary lights for an hour or something, and when the hour was over they turned them all back on and went home for the night. go figure. Very few people want to change, if that change entails an actual sacrifice or even a minimal amount of effort and change in life style, even if that change would be good for us. We will need those factories, and the goods they produce, for tax money to attempt to fix the problems, since obviously its not going to be fixed by itself, so I guess we will have to keep making a mess to fix it.

Shut down the factories - live by whale oil lamps. Move man back into the 18th century. Technology is bad and need to end.

Isn't this the whole idea behind "global warming"?

We might die, but the planet won't. It's funny that the global warming enviro-terrorists don't seem to care how many people die, only the planet. It could be just me, but that sure seems backwards!

Do not worry, we might end up not in 18th century but in 3000BC. But before closing those factories, you should end those advertisements...but then how about freedom and democracy? Or maybe it is democracy to ask voting our children and grandchildren as if they want live the good life as well?
