Please tell me all the aspects involve in government grant to pursue research on a...

...technology? Will the government have rights to the resulting technology? Will they ask for results on how it works? Will they ask for plans and schematic diagrams? Will I have to pay them back? How does those free government grants that is being advertise works? Where to apply for those grants? What happens if the results of the research is that the technology is not practical to pursue? Will I have sole ownership of what ever results that comes out of this research? Hope somebody could answer all the questions and not just tell me to go to a lawyer. :7)
