I'm really technology illiterate. Need help buying IPod/MP3 and putting music?

I'm going to download all of my favorite songs on the gadget from ez-tracks.com. I noticed that the website says that they have MP3 codes to have you get those songs freely. Will those codes work on any IPod or only on an MP3 player? Which player has the most space? I know 4GB gives you 1,000 songs but is that for an IPod or a MP3? Can I get more space? Do I need to buy any other equipment with the IPod or the MP3? Which gadget is cheaper? Why is the particular gadget better? THANKS FOR YOUR HELP. I really prefer getting my answers from someone who actually uses ez-tracks.

I was in the same boat that you are right now. My wife wanted an mp3 player, and I was totally clueless as to what was what. In the end, after some good advice from YA, I decided to go with the 8 GB Ipod nano. From what I can tell, the Ipod is the easiest to use, and it also has flash memory, and not a little hard drive, so it will never skip, and there are elss moving parts to break. It is also simple to use. After I bought my wife hers, I had Itunes up and running and had songs on her Ipod within a halfhour. I liked it so much, I ended up buying one too. As for the memory, I think that 8GB is PLENTY, but am still kinda kicking myself for not coughing up the extra $50 for the 30 GB one. Good luck, and enjoy your new MP3 player when you get it.

i personally prefer the ipod because they offer the most choices for available space. they offer covering from 240 to 120,000 songs. it just depends on how many songs you have/plan on having.
if you get an ipod, the only program you need is itunes which holds mp4 (which is an apple file) and mp3s. also if you have songs on windows media, it will convert the files to mp4.
i dont know much about the zune but i feel like its the same price for less space. with an ipod you can carry songs and videos and get new music from the itunes store....
