Yahoo answers has been a great leap forward in communication though technology. It gives people the opportunity to receive answers to their questions (or advice) and it gives everyday people the opportunity to help others.
Phone texting has changed society by itself, I would say. People can get necessary information quickly. A text message must save people a lot of time. A busy person can now communicate in a few seconds with their cel phone.
Before that, message boards and email were (still are) pillars of communication. That's self explanitory if you've used them.
The most important thing that technology has done for communication is bring together family who used to talk seldomly and now talk often. Technology has made communication bloom like a flower.
