Is Empowering Technology important to my computer?

I have forgotten the password to Empowering and I need to restore my computer back to default as it keeps shutting itself down. I cannot do it because of this password. I was going to remove it completely? Good idea or bad idea??? Help

Get rid of it. It's a drain on the system.
