You're a little confused by terminology. Evolution is the change in POPULATIONS over immense periods of time due to natural selection. Individuals do not evolve. Even if I use gene therapy to change some kind of trait of mine, that doesn't mean the human species have some how evolved. To answer your question though: I think using gene therapy for gene *disorders* are perfectly fine. Using gene therapy for the engineering of *appealing* people (be it by changing their skin color, eye color, sexual orientation, etc) is not right. |
