| Ministry and technology?
What are ways that you know of to use technology in ministry. I know of projection softwares like EasyWorship and Media Shout to enhance worship. I know that there are games for youth that are best displayed on a video projector, but what else can technology be used for? Most specifically for Pastoral Church Services or Youth Ministry. I have heard of Church Services being held in games such as SecondLife as well, so what are your suggestions? On a second note, what questions do you think would be pertinent to ask a technology team of a Church about what they do and how they think it helps with ministry? The reason I ask all of this: I am soon going to be graduating college and have a desire to be a youth minister and serve on a technology ministry team. (If there are ANY responses flaming about someones religion, they will be reported - ZERO tolerance. This is a community meant to help ALL people, so don't ruin it!) |

I think Technology is so important to our church. I belong to a mid-sized mega-church in the Midwest, and I couldn't live without the video/podcast messages on the church's website. If I come down sick or can't make a service, nothing is better than being able to "catch up." Also, the technology within the church itself is invaluable. I love, love, love, the videos and movies the team puts together to help get messages across. I love that they so flawlessly coordinate Scripture passages with images of Christianity on the screens. I love the way that they capture our pastor perfectly, so that it's professional-looking and good quality. What I would like to see is more interactive/personal stuff. Things on the website. I'm not sure what (LOL), but I'm always on our church's website wishing there was more (maybe video clips of recent missionary trips... interviews with the various pastors... testimonials... etc.). I know it's not much, but hope it helps! How awesome that you are on the road to being a teacher of Christ. God Bless! ~Jubilee on Earth (dot com) <>< P.S. Nothing stops the overflow of scoffers and disbelievers that like to belittle and joke on here. Doesn't bother me any. The more I see, then the closer I know Christ is to coming back. |

Zero tolerance, has a nice ring to it. I get reported by church folks for anything whatever, whatever they fancy at the moment, and I have sufficient violation notices to festoon an entire hallway -- so I don't really give a holy crap about your "zero tolerance". |
