| Does your husband act like SUCH a baby when he's sick too?
My husband and I have colds. We both have the same cold, yet he acts as if he is simply about to die. I understand that he feels bad, but his dramatic gestures for every cough, sneeze and sniffle make me want to roll my eyes. It makes me think he is trying to 'milk' it...which makes it harder for me to adminster any TLC, for fear of feeling played. For the record, I have had much worse health in my life than he has. Chronic stuff that involves tumors and actually left me deaf 5 years ago(hence my name 'say what?'. I'm scheduled for major surgery this week...maybe my perspective is out of wack. Is it me, or are men just really babies when it comes to this stuff??? These answers have really made me laugh...it feels good to share! Thanks for the funny anecdotes. I won't kill him...yet! LOL. |

I can give you the simplist answer....YES! I think they want 'mothering' when they are sick, and they tend to forget that you are sick as well, if not worse....its a man thing...although I find it annoying as well...by the way...love the name lol

As a matter of fact, my husband is home in bed like a pansy as we speak. He didn't go to work today because he also has this cold. And yes, it's a nasty cold, but not one that requires to be home in bed all day. It's just NICER to be home in bed all day rather then be sick with a cold at work. My husband is pathetic when he's sick. To the point it almost pisses me off to not want to even help him. He whines, he talks loudly or so softly that you can't even hear. Because he's "so sick" he can't talk. And he sweats which I think is nasty! LOL. He covers up in all sorts of layers and sweats and sweats. And whines and whines. I just do my job in bringing him Theraflu, water, and medicine. I'm NOT his nurse as I have a 15 month old maniac to care for too! So while he whines about how horrible he feels (I believe last night he used the words "I'm going to die") I'm usually sick with the same exact thing, running around the house, cooking dinner, chasing after our son. Life goes on....most men just don't know what that means! LOL! |

LOL oh yeah........ My guy is such a wuss when it comes to pain and illness....I swear he gets that poor widdle me voice all kids use when they want sympathy...sorta like a whine and a pathetic invalid voice haha....you don't give it a second thought when it's a child...but a 57 year old man whose's a ringer for Santa Claus??? He's even got the puppy-dog eyes down pat....hahahahahaha. he's such a sweetie tho so I baby him......even when my rheumatoid arthritis flares up and moving about is uncomfortable.....but he treats me like gold so if he needs a little extra TLC....he's got it. Look at it with a sense of humor, Toots......and Good Luck |
