My boyfriends subwoofers are acting wierd...?

Yes he knows how to hook everything up and yes it's done right. He has a massive audio 2000 watt amp and 2 12 watt massive audio subwoofers and when he turns his car on and his tv turns on it kicks real loud which we have heard will burn the speakers out. When he turns his tv up the speaker kinda rattles, not normal. It sorta pops out. My aunt owns a stereo shop but she doesn't get back from her vacation any time soon for me to have her look at it so we have takin it around and been told that it's because there's not enough power pushin the speakers, yet...the amp he had before was a 1600 watt. Does anybody know why his speakers are doing this and how to stop it. Also he has all the special wire running everything to make sure he gets enough power. THANKS.
