He is acting so weird....?

My boyfriend and I go to a community college for this camp and it is great between us. I went to the first session where I met him and we both liked each other. We were in each others guitar class, so we both went to this thing where our teacher was playing Jazz. So thats how that started.... But the first day of session 2 I couldn't go to cause I had the stomach flu. Then the second day I went and once he saw me he came up and we talked until we had to go to our classes. Then after that class he came up and talked to me again. (we didn't get any classes together this time) But today I didn't get to see him cause he was late, then later like at lunch he saw me and smiled and waved. But that was the first time he noticed me and he searched for me yesterday... Then my friend (the one who told me he liked me) said she talked to him and he said "I love Caroline!" and then she said "She is here you know." and then he said "Like I care." What the heck should I think about this?
I know this is very confusing... But I really need help with this. Just try ur best to understand it please............
