| We don't. We do not evangelize. In fact, if a person wishes to convert the Rabbi will try to turn him a way more than once to see if he is committed.
A person is born Jewish or reaches the decision to explore conversion on their own.
We believe we Jews are obligated to follow certain laws others are not and conversion is a serious thing. We also beleive others, not just Jews "get into Heaven".
The world does not have as many Jews after WWII and our numbers have not picked up to pre WWII numbers. You can't replace that many people in just 60+ years.
Edit: Yes Diogenes. excpt it was just you who had the chicken soup. I had the cilantro hummus veggie sandwich and the sabre soda. We must do it again some time LOL. Also Paperback is not a "real Jew". If you look at her avatar she is a little flat and one dimensional LOL (It is late and I crack myself up). Actually Paperback (who IS certainly a real Jew) has answered a question once again much better than any of the rest of us. |
