Pregnancy trivia?

ok, it's not really trivia...but it is fun to play all these little guessing games.

I just found out I am 5 weeks along. HCG levels at 1465 yesterday and will go for 2nd one tomorrow.

Uterus is measuring large 7-10 weeks but it was too soon to see anything on transvaginal ultrasound yesterday - so I am definatly not that far along

Don't know why but I am thinking twins between the large measurement and HCG levels. I am over 35 and have one child already (age 2)

What have your experiences been...just curious what everyone thinks.

Thanks to all that answer and 10 pt for best answer!

Do twins run in your family? I don't think that the HCG levels are particularly high. When I had tests done at 5 weeks 6 days, my HCG was at 29000 and it's a single pregnancy. My uterus also measures small b/c it's tilted so it is more compact. I wouldn't think too much of the results at this time...they should be able to see something on the transvaginal ultrasound in about another week.

It's really hard to go by HCG levels since every ones vary so much but if you are measuring big then you are either going to have a big baby or passable twins. They should be able to do a ultra sound after 7 weeks to see if theres more than one or not

Don't jump the gun, although 2 buns in the oven at the same time would be exciting! Definitely wait for your ultrasound when you can see something. Your uterus may be larger because you have already had 1 child and that happened not too long ago. Also, the hCG level in women varies greatly. Some women show up days before their missed periods and some women will never have a positive HPT even when they are pregnant. But the best of luck to you and congratulations!!!

Wow your HCG levels are pretty high, and normally this early on you dont measure that big unless there is more than one. Normally its after 13 weeks that you will start measuring small or large as the baby grows. and as you probably know after 35 the chances of twins sky rocket! Wow thats awsome if you are having twins! Congrats on the pregnancy
