Henry Louis Gehrig baseball trivia. Do you hace what it takes to answer it?

What was the name of the player he replaced in the line-up at 1st base? In other words, which first baseman did he replace at the very first time?

Random question.
Back into their times when he played with Babe Ruth, why did they wear number their numbers like that? Babe wore 3 so what did that mean? Lou wore 4 and what did that mean as well?
