I answered a question just like this 2 days ago, and it was chosen as the best answer. so i think ill tell you the same thing I told her: what i would do is take my 2 favorite colors(say, blue and green) and paint the walls blue, with the molding on the door and windows green, or keep them white and do green on the opposite walls and blue on the walls next to them, but don't be afraid to mix it up and do some fun things. Then i would buy curtains with different shades of green, and blankets and covers with different patterns of blue and green. the trick is with the curtains, you would prolly want them to be the color that theres less of, Ex. if you have more blue on the walls than green, do the curtains green. If you want stars and hearts, a good idea is to get a border with those on it that matches the colors and make sure not all the colors are exactly the same, make sure that your curtains and your bed each has lots of different shades of blue and green |

Don't put up border like someone suggested, it's so repetitive and boring. Let your bedspread have the hearts or stars, or put the stars on the ceiling. I like Kelly green walls w/hot pink curtains, or big pink circles on the wall in different sizes. I also like a nice chocolate wall color, with a lighter pink accent, on the curtains, or bedspread. Or paint the wall pink, and get some velvet chocolate curtains, and pillows and blanket, it's easy to find those. My room is a beach theme, aqua headboard my husband made me, and my walls are crackled white. I always use shower curtains for curtains, they are so much cooler. You can also attached shutters on both sides of your windows, this is so sweet. Then Go to Lowes and get a picket fence, paint it white, that will be your headboard. Then maybe paint your room a Robins egg blue, or a soft Lavender, with sheer soft white curtains, they maybe have polka dots on them. You might have to get fabric and make curtains, it's really easy. My daughter room is a bright apple green, the name is grape green, and her curtains are hot pink silk. Her comforter is black and white scrolls to calm the walls down a bit. You can find the comforter at Target. It has little pink pom poms on the pillow shams, it's so cute, but grown up too. Then I added splashes of Zebra print throughout the room. Her dad is making her a headboard with Zebra fabric on it. I'm gonna paint her chandelier black. |

Well you probably wont like stars or hearts forever. I would paint your room a neutral earth tone and spend money buying asian art work or take pictures in black and white or color of things that interest you and put them on the wall after you have them cropped . You need something you can grow into not something that is going to make you feel like a child in another year.
