hmm, good question depends how steady you are with your hand

i have a 3x5 in bamboo fun wacom tablet, it only costs like $100 and i love it =3 ... it's really great, small enough to put it away, and it's just like drawing in a notebook/sketchbook/whatever paper you normally draw on.

i personally don't think size of tablet matters...since when using softwares such as photoshop, paint, gimp, etc. just use the zoom in tool to get good clean lines.

or actually it also depends on your hand size i guess in a way, if you have a huge hand you probably might want to get a medium sized, i however have asian tiny hands so i'm used to my small-sized tablet.

My friend has a large size Bamboo tablet and he loves it, but doesn't like how big it is. After learning from his experience, and how much he loves his drawing pad, I'd recommend a small or medium size Bamboo.
