| STARVING A DOG FOR "ART"?! Don't you think this is wrong???
In 2007, the 'artist' Guillermo Vargas "Habacuc", took a dog from the street, tied him to a rope in an art gallery, and starved him to deathFor several days, the 'artist' and the visitors of the exhibition watched emotionless the shameful 'masterpiece' based on the dog's agony, until eventually he diedThis is not all... the prestigious Visual Arts Biennial of the Central American decided that the 'installation' was actually art, so that Guillermo Vargas Habacuc has been invited to repeat his cruel action for the biennial of 2008PLEASE HELP STOP HIM. It takes a second to help put a stop to animal abuse. If you agree that this is CRUEL than please sign this petition!http://www.petitiononline.com/ea6gk/petition-sign.htmlAnd watch this video!http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3-jIP8i1djg

I'm honestly not sure about this and I really don't want to comment without the facts, which we may never have. There's an entry on Wikipedia which claims that the dog was emaciated anyway, only tied up for three hours and fed and given water in the time, but as we all know anyone can change anything on Wikipedia to their own advantage:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Guillermo_Vargas

I read the post on the video : "Guess what? This story is a hoax. The whole thing never happened. If you do some research youll find out. The point of the "project" was to show that people (i.e. everyone commenting below me) freak out over one "dead" dog, but turn a blind eye to every other genocide and tragedy in the world. A dog dies and it's a crime, a million people die and it's a statistic. The joke's on you."And I think the person who wrote this had a very good grip and understanding of what the artist truly was trying to show. Art isn't about looking at what's in front of you sometimes its about looking at what's not there.Although I do think starving the dog was terrible I have no comment. I can't bring myself to answer this truthfully as far as understanding why he did this and what I think to be right or wrong the truth of that comment brings me to realize that this one dog dying cannot compare to the other countless lives lost every day from other things like starvation, disease, crime, poverty, war... and we care so much about ONE DOG than MILLIONS OF LIVES. I care about the dog as much as the other lives but why can't we sign other petitions to stop crime and such? Yeah that's a joke too.
