you would still need to tag & title it. They would use the VIN & you would surely get caught.

License plate
VIN and EIN

yeah easily. they check the tags, not the color, when checking if a car is stolen. if you ever get pulled in that stolen car, even if it has been painted, you have a jail cell waiting for you.

Chassis numbers are tested so you wouldn't be able to MOT and tax it.
Cars now have tracker devices installed because it cuts down the insurance premiums.
