Usually when a car is stolen, it is taken apart and either shipped as parts and reassembled in another country, or the parts themselves are sold separately, locally, or internationally. The codes are sometimes rubbed out…

yeah easily. they check the tags, not the color, when checking if a car is stolen. if you ever get pulled in that stolen car, even if it has been painted, you have a jail cell waiting for you.
