If only one set of sides are parallel then no it couldnt be a square because a square has 2 sets of parallel sides.
It sounds like a trapezium. The top & bottom are parallel but the sides slope inwards.

I think it would be a trapezoid. A trapezoid has 4 sides and 4 angles with only one set of opposite sides being parallel.
