I think I ruined my car paint when trying to fix it... help?

I have a jet black hood on old BMW, it looked terrible due to bird poop acid and recently got keyed.. so I said what the hell and went to Autozone and got can of black spray paint (jet-black)..

Sprayed the whole thing and it looked pretty damn good for $6, much better then before.. then I made a huge mistake. I was told to apply a coat, so i went back and get black acrylic coat by du-point and sprayed my car with it... it had huge un even coloring all over... just now i tried to fix it by getting new paint can and going over it but no go.. still huge spots, i did two coats no go.

What I'm thinking right now is to get little rotating thing from home depot with 400 wet sand paper clean hood then sand paper the hell out of it and try to apply black paint again then put on CLEAR coat.

Or what should I do? Hood looks HORRIBLE right now. Thanks.
