| When you have a drawn up contract to buy land can the person decide not to sell? My husband and I were i the process of buying some ground through a realtor. The person who owned the ground accepted our offer and we signed a contract and gave earnest money so until we knew if the offer was accepted no one else would try to purchase the land. I just found out that 2 weeks the person selling called the realtor and decided not to sell but know one told us I just found out today. Since there was a contract does this person have the right to change his mind and what legal rights do we have if any?
I dont want money my question was does the seller have the right to change his mind once he accepts the offer and there is a contract drawn up saying he accepts.
So for a week and a half the realtors withheld our check trying to get the seller to change his mind. Knowing that he didnt totally accept the offer. We werent informed we were told the guy accepted so we had our hopes up thinking it was ours. Also we found out someone found out who was selling and contacted him directly and is now buying what we thought was suppose to be ours. I will never deal w/ this realtor again. They lead us to believe it was ours when they said the guy accepted knowing all this time almost 2 weeks later he changed his mind. If I was a Bitch I would go to court with this but whats the point the guy never signed so well make it out with nothing. |
