Can acrylic craft paint be put on latex painted walls?

My daughter's BR walls are painted with latex paint, can I use acrylic craft paint ( like the kind from Walmart) to paint some designs on the wall? I am not painting very much, but I want to use many colors and don't want to buy a bunch of cans of paint.
