They're good for durability and they are money makers. When I need more cash I paint an oil, it always sells. Oils are the classic form of artwork for the people. The people, that is the public; believe that oils are worth something more than other works.

I like them because they dry slower than acrylic and thus remain mixable on the canvas, allowing you to blur and soften edges or even remove them many hours afterward if you decide you don't like the color. I also like the result better. Acrylic paintings dry within minutes and sometimes look too "plastic."
