| >PLEASE help me to draw this<? I am drawing something to enter an art contest. It is a very typical yet beautiful thing that we haveto find in our house. I got a plate with all this Chinese writing on it, a soft paper towel, and on top of those layers. I got two of the most ripest, delicious papayas in dimensions one is in front of the other, with the papaya in the back showing about half. How can I start drawing this. We also have to watercolor it. Any illustarational tips,please....please...please |

| I would make sure you are happy with your light source(s). You definitely don't want that to change during the process. If I were drawing it, I'd take an overhead perspective. I'd start with the papayas as they would seem to be the easiest shape to command. I'd flesh them out with a 3H and work with that lead until you've gotten the whole double shape. The plate would come next, but I'm not exactly getting the point of the paper towel. A napkin would make more sense with this still life as the added color(s) could do wonders. I'd deepen the weight lines and contact points between he papayas and the plate with black ink or you could try 6B lead. You could give added undertone to the picture by using colored pencils as well as pastels. So many methods! You have those gorgeous oranges and blues to work with! I'm sure whatever you do will look great! Oh, yeah. I almost forgot! Pick a song. That's great for mood/tone! Let us know how you did! |
