I need to draw a genogram like a family tree by using squares and circles.?

I can draw the shapes by using the icon at bottm tool bar, but I can't type the text under or above the shapes. (graphic frame keeps showing up and "I" bar doesn't show, which makes me unable to type.
Does anyone know how to do?

make them really tiny and you can stamp your own font one pixel at a time. otherwise, look for a text tool or use better software.
