How to make turqouise with paint?

Okay, so obviously i know that green and blue make turquiose, but seriously every time i try and paint i come out with this gross teal color. any suggestions?

You need to use phthalo blue, not ultramarine.

Teal means too much green. Make sure it's more of a blue-green that you're using, than a yellow-green. And the blue should be closer to green than purple. Then, lighten it just a bit with white.

Perhaps you could add some amount of white? Perhaps I'm just crazy, but it was my first thought.

If you are using opaque paint such as acrylic, then you need to add white. If you are using transparent paint such as watercolour, then you need to use more water. Turquoise is essentially a very light shade of teal.
