A lamp draws a current of 0.42 A when it is connected to a 120 V source.?

Assume that the battery voltage is constant, no matter what current is present. What is the resistance of the lamp? (answer in ohms) What is the power consumption of the lamp? (Answer in watts)

Power consumed is a product of voltage V applied to the lamp and current I flowing trough the lamp
P= VI
P=10 x 0.42 = 50 W ( rounded to two SF)

Resistance is the ratio of voltage V to current I. We have
R= V/I
R=120/0.42=285 ohms or 290 ohms ( rounded to two SF)
